Rocket50: What does age mean to you?

Based on data of the WHO I will become 80 years old which means statistically I'm by now 70% through. On an 18 hole golf course, I therefore just hit my tee-shot on the 12th ...

Age brings about physical changes and limitations. However, with age also comes a greater appreciation for life. Age also leads to a greater acceptance of the impermanence of life and a recognition of the importance of making the most of the time that we have.

Rocket50: What does age mean to you?

I turned 75 this year and this milestone has made me very aware of the passage of time. I still work and I love my busy, active life. I’m lucky to be healthy and have a lot of energy, but I never take this for granted. There are so many things I still want to see and do. I’m a travel junkie and spend 3-4 months/ year in Europe. This has become my passion, and I love planning my next trip. Up next? Amboise, in the Loire Valley. I’m involved in my Napa Valley community, and we’re starting now to work on the 2024 political campaign—getting people registered to vote, understanding that their vote has never been more important. I’ve always been a bit of a loner, but spending time with my friends restores me.
